According to Dictionary.com, a bard is:

  1. One of an ancient Celtic order of minstrel poets who composed and recited verses celebrating the legendary exploits of chieftains and heroes.

  2. A poet, especially a lyric poet.

We’re gonna play a little loose and fast with this definition. For our purposes, let’s say that a bard is simply an entertainer. Someone with a talent to show off, looking for an audience to show it to.

We provide that audience.

Battle of the Bards is a venue for performers of all types to showcase their talents in friendly competition. Every month, the bards give it their all to put on a great show and win the crowd’s favour. At the end of the night, the best acts—as voted by the audience—are awarded cash prizes!

The wide variety of acts at past Battles has included folk guitarists, comedians, classical musicians, dancers, jugglers…you name it! And we’re always looking for new people to come out and take part.
